Post Signature: I am just under 6 ft and in mens leagues generally shorter than most goalies. I do well because of years of playing volleyball which created very fast hands. I find that my movement and hand speed stop more goals than my lack of height lets goals in. Reach is a great aid for a goalie, but speed and being in the right place are far more important. I have been playing for 20+ years as goalie and coach youth soccer. I would take a fast aggressive goalie over a height any day.
