Hi All
just joined seems like some good discussions.....
I played in North London boys for many years, then on and of seasons in Harrow, Northwood and Hillingdon while working.
Moved to Sweden with my day job trained and worked there for many years and moved to Finland were I still play in the 4th division...typical old boys and youth coming into the game but hih fitness levels.
Have been coaching youth teams and now start with the mens first team ....that i still play in, speciality defence

| Hi, mine name is George (GTQ). I have only recently found this site and I have since made several contributions. I have been a qualified coach since 1969 and have always sought to increase my knowledge. I also hold a diploma in Sports Science, was a tutor/assessor for the FA for many years, have managed and coached at semi-pro level and was the recruitment officer for the Hull City School of Excellence for a couple of years before leaving to study Sports Science. After retiring from football for a while I began to watch my 8yr-old grandson train with a local club. Inevitably I have become deeply involved again and I am currently the Head Coach of the club's Junior Section (ages 5-10 yrs). For those relatively inexperienced coaches out there I would recommend looking up Michael Beale on the internet. Michael is a Chelsea Youth Coach and has written three manuals on 'Warm-ups', 'Small-sided games' and 'Shooting practices'. I heartily recommend them to everyone (and before you ask I have no connection with Michael and came across his publications whilst browsing the net!). Hope this helps someone! GTQ

Hi all, New to the site. I coach an U14 side in Dublin, Ireland. I'm 30 years old and have been involved in football all my life in one capacity or another. About 3 years ago, i realised i wasn't good enough to play at the standard i wanted to so decided to give coaching a shot. I've never looked back. I've had my group of lads since then and to say i've enjoyed it would be an understatement. I've always listened to people talk about seeing a player develop and to be honest always thought they were talking rubbish, but the last 3 years have opened my eyes very very wide. I've seen a group of little kids who never played organised football turn into teenagers with bags and bags of ability. It is without a doubt the biggest reason i keep going on them cold, rainy and windy nights.
