| Hi, merry christmas to all. Just recently signed on to website. Im extremley interested in coaching young footballers. Have completed up to level 3 sfa coaching young footballers. Dont run or help any local teams! I Work with adults with Learning Disabillities and Would Love opportunity to coach mainly young footballers (or) people with disabillities in either scools/lesure centres etc or (even for exta income). Not sure however, what coaching level I would need, or how to go about it? I would like to do this on a FULL time basis! Looking for Help, as realy LOVE the "Beutiful game" and would Love opportunity to coach people on the proper way of playing, with passion, excitement, and most of all the love of the game!

| Kipper, welcome to the forum. I assume when you say SFA level 3 you mean the scottish L3 qualification. My advice would be to get some coaching experience on a volunteer basis to start with, and then ensure you have an SFA L4 qualification which appears to be which appears to be broadly equivalent to an English FA L2 certificate. At that level with some experience you may well be able to find paid work as a coach. For volunteer experience look for youth football clubs in your area, they always need help, and free qualified coaches are always welcome, this will give you the chance to establish your coaching skills, and gain experience. For paid work, try the professional clubs in your area, if they run community coaching programs, they are normally looking for qualified coaches, expect to start on a casual basis, and build from there. Also look for companies running holiday football schemes, they are often looking for extra coaches, but again expect to start casual. As your experience grows, you will build up a circle of contacts and will hear of full time jobs as they become available, expect competition to be very tough, and realistically you need to be at Uefa B licence level to be doing it full time.
