That one's a beauty! I really love the power and the way the ball rises but still with velocity. Notice how far out the Keeper is? Top of the 6 yd box and he still can't get even a fingertip on it. Not to take anything at all away from Ballack but I wonder how much of the spectacular nature we see these dayswith free kicls is attributable to the new balls? They really fly, and dip and swerve unlike they did in the old days. Or maybe it's all in the boots?!

I can't find it on YouTube but Rivelino had a cracker of a free kick for Brazil circa 1970... may have been one of those outside of the left boot banana kicks!

Has there been a better free kick?
