What I can say though is that it is excellent, the form of your team. As for your situation, I don't see wrong in what you are doing currently although since this lad interests you so much maybe just ONE game wouldn't be so bad. Explain to this boy that you've noticed his enthusiasm and talent so therefore are giving him a chance to prove his worth at a higher level. One game doesn't mean that the replaced player would be out for the season, it's just one match to see how he could fit in with your current squad. Hope I assisted. Best of luck

player A vs pLAYER b

I manage 6 under 9 sides .A-F
My core responsibility is in coaching one side though .

My main side has won its last 8 games in a row . The team are working effectively as a unit and without being arrogant so far this season we haven't come realistically close to loosing .Part of the reason for this is that each player in my team understands his role and responsibility in the team .The team is working wonderfully as a unit in attack and defense .

Here is my problem though . I recently have had a young boy join the club who has really made me stand up and take notice . The Kid lacks some important skill but will add much needed pace and a different dimension to my team should I include him .He defends well and has a natural instinct to get goal side on defense.

Do I drop one of my players who maybe lacks the skill of some of my other players but fits well into the game plan immediately in favor of the new guy or do I bide my time waiting for one of my team to be absent for a game to give the new guy a run . (Please bear in mind the new guy is still getting to play every week in the side below mine at this stage so he is getting game time )

At this stage I have decided to handle the situation as follows .

I have decided to leave my current side unchanged for now . I want my team to feel secure and believe that if I am not changing things for no reason that this will make them trust me and believe in me as a coach better .

I have brought the new kid up to train with my squad so that he is being trained on a higher level to the side that he is currently playing in but each week I return him back to the lower side for the weekend matches .

I realize that this is a short term solution but at least this way I can work on getting the new kids skill levels up and make sure that when he does play in my side that he understands the structure and game plan we are playing .

As soon as one of my current team is absent I will give the new player a run and make a decision from there how to move forward .

What do you all think .

Please give me feedback

Regards

Grant
