No one within my club have put any kids through the FA soccer Stars but my opinion is it looks good.

I did the FA Soccer Stars with my Under 9's last season and then presented them with their certificates at the end of year presentation evening. It went down an absolute storm. The players loved it, the parents thought it was great, because they could see their children improving and having evidence of achievement and it worked wonders for team morale. They really worked hard, because they treated it as a competition and wanted as many stars as possible.

Noel, having run the Soccer Star skills for a number of years, the trend is now moving towards the Football Icon tests purely because of the TV exposure.

The FI tests are a good alternative and may interest the older player.

As a base the FA SoccerStars provides a good skill foundation where players can SEE how they fare against other players.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The team was U7's last season and are moving up in Sept to U8's.  I've just completed soccerstars and although hard work to get 20 kids through it the results and excitment from the kids are worth it.

They cant wait to get their certificates and are already practicing the tasks trying to improve.

What is soccer stars?

I think the best player should get the reward whoever he is,if it is your son then give it to him and be proud, if any parents disagree with the decision then they need to give a reason why!
Normally it would be a parent who would not dream of helping at traning or at a match but likes to hav a good moan about anything

In a game it is to easy to take my son of just becase that is the easy decision, I made that mistake a few times when I started as an u8's manager, I now play the strongest team and give other players a try if i get a chance

Am I right or wrong?
