Soccer warm up drill for crossing technique

When you are preparing your players to work on their crossing skills, you can get them warmed up first using the following soccer drill.

Soccer drill tips

  • Mark out a five yard x 10 yard area. The players have to make a touch to the side, then pass through the middle of the cones at the opposite side of the drill.

  • If a player fails to get the ball between the cones at the opposite end, they lose a point.

  • Try and get your players to use both feet to pass the ball in this soccer drill. Obviously the foot they use most of the time will kick the ball further than the one they use less.

  • You can set the length of the pass to suit the players' feet by adjusting the size of the area. Start with the usual foot, and see how far your players can kick the ball.

  • When you move onto the other foot, you can shorten the drill area so it is a more simple pass and control warm-up to try and get your players using both their feet.
