Continuous control soccer drill
Try this soccer control drill and watch your players step up a gear in matches as they eliminate missed opportunities caused by poor control.
Soccer drill set up
This is a soccer drill focusing on continuous control skills - which part of the body your players use depends on how good their passing skills are.
Set up a 20m x 30m pitch with cones and have an 18m x 3m end zone that the players score into in a 3 v 3 game.
Player 1 serves the ball into player 2 in the central area of the pitch and joins in to support, as player 6 approaches to defend, player 2 passes across the pitch to player 3 who controls the ball and dribbles inside.
Player 1 now quickly changes direction and overlaps around player 3 who reverse passes to player 1 who now scores in the end zone.
