Improve soccer players technique in 2v2 situations
2v2 situations arise all around the penalty area, so your players need to be able to attack and defend in this area.
You want to encourage your forwards to be positive in attack and get a shot on goal. Soccer defenders need to be patient and time their tackles well. Both soccer attackers and defenders should communicate with each other in their pairs.
How to set it up
Set up a 30 yards long by 20 yards wide pitch with two goals and two goalkeepers. You need three teams consisting of two players. Put a pair of defenders in each half of the pitch and a pair of attackers starting on the halfway line.

How to play it
The attackers choose one end of the pitch to attack in a 2v2. If they score a goal, they are rewarded with a second attack at the opposite end.
If the defenders win the ball, or if the attackers fail to score, the roles are reversed – the attackers become defenders and the defenders attack the opposite goal in a 2v2 situation.
The practice continues in this manner. Give each pair a point for scoring or breaking up an attack. The winners are the pair with most points after a set time period or number of attacks.
